If your business is within a Wellfield Protection Area, and you use or store chemicals or products that can be a potential threat to groundwater (gasoline, motor oil, solvents, degreasers, etc.), the MCWEC needs your help. Please review the relevant fact sheets below. The MCWEC is visiting businesses within the wellfields to answer your questions and to provide educational materials. In the near future, we will also have self-assessment forms for you to complete so that you can become or reassert your groundwater friendliness. The MCWEC has no regulatory authority and is only interested in the education of best management practices for groundwater protection. The MCWEC is also creating a business recognition and mentoring program. Please contact us for further information. If you are a new or expanding business within a Wellfield Protection Area, the Wellfield Protection Zoning Ordinance may apply to you.
